Julia’s Vegan Cakery and Bakeshop was founded with a very specific mission – to provide delicious vegan/non-dairy dessert options for vegans, those with dairy allergies, or those who simply prefer a plant-based alternative. As a person who grew up with family members who could not eat desserts containing egg or dairy (e.g., milk and butter), Julia was troubled by the fact that those she cared about were consistently deprived of culinary experiences that often make life just a little bit better, such as a birthday cake for a loved one, a treat or sweet around the holidays, or something as simple as dessert after a delicious meal. Whether a vegan or someone who simply eats dairy-free, Julia was committed to leveling the dessert playing field by creating plant-based desserts (cakes, cookies, brownies, scones, etc) to be enjoyed by all. While it started small, with plant-based cakes and cookies for family gatherings and holidays, soon enough, the demand grew organically among vegans and non-vegans alike.
Now, using 100% plant-based, largely local, and uniquely sourced ingredients, Julia’s Vegan Cakery and Bakeshop provides vegan cakes, cupcakes, cookies, biscotti, brownies, scones and so much more to those who want some of the best vegan desserts in the region.
In addition to providing vegan sweets, Julia’s Vegan Cakery and Bakeshop also encourage sustainability in the market place and beyond. The majority of our cake boxes are recyclable and made from post-consumer content, and we are currently working on reusable shipping packages.
